Krystian Jankowski was born in 1956 in Międzyrzecz Wielkopolski. He is a graduate of the Polytechnic in Breslau (Politechnika Wrocławska). After his studies, he dedicated himself fully to artistic creation. He inherited his talent for art from his father, the outstanding photographer Eugeniusz Jankowski.

He has been producing his artwork in oil on canvas since 1979. Between 1980 and 1990 he expanded his skills under the instruction of Zbigniew Jarek, and in the years 2005-2006 under the instruction of Tomasz Sętowski. He paints still life, landscapes, magical realism, abstraction and copies of the great masterpieces. He exhibits his works in Krakow, Breslau and Oppeln as well as in the Muzeum Ślężańskie in Sobótka. He painted in Germany between 1999 and 2002. A significant number of his works from the past years can be found in private collections in Germany, Canada, the USA and Australia.
He is a member of the Polish Association of Visual Artists for Applied Arts (ZPAP Sztuka Użytkowa).
